Waxed Papers are available in a white, semi transparent white and brown. The white semi transparent waxed paper is also available in a medium weight base paper (45gsm) and a heavier weight base paper (60gsm) if required. Please call for more information.

The white waxed paper is a good general food wrapper suitable for wrapping charcuterie items, sandwiches and baguettes. This particular grade of waxed paper does not have any moisture barrier properties so would not be suitable for wrapping fresh meat, fresh fish and other foods with a high moisture content. It does have some grease barrier properties so would be good for wrapping low grease items like sandwiches, cooked meats and some cheeses.

The white semi transparent waxed paper has the same properties as the white waxed paper, however being semi-transparent means the wrapped food item will be partially visible through the paper. It is available in two base papers, a 45gsm (BUY NOW) or a 60gsm (BUY NOW).

The brown waxed paper is becoming increasingly popular as an alternative to the white or semi transparent white waxed paper mainly due to its ‘natural’ brown appearance. It is a good general food wrapper suitable for wrapping charcuterie items, sandwiches and baguettes. This particular grade of waxed paper does not have any moisture barrier properties so would not be suitable for wrapping fresh meat, fish and other foods with a high moisture content. Its overall performance is slightly better than the two grades of white waxed paper due to a slightly heavier wax coating which gives a better grease barrier. The brown waxed paper is good for wrapping low grease items and some cheeses.

The polyethylene or PE coated tissue paper is a lightweight paper with good grease barrier properties. It is ideal for wrapping greasy or oily foods. A good example of this paper in use is burger wrapping paper within the fast food industry. This product would not be suitable for use in a butchers or fishmongers due to the weight and strength of the paper.
